LENDING LIBRARY

Law-related education materials, including books, lesson plans, mock trials and videos are available for checkout for two weeks from our lending library. To check out materials, please e-mail Utah LRE at lre@icw.com. The materials will be shipped to you at no cost.   The teacher/school will need to pay the cost of return mail to the office.   For the list of elementary materials available, click here.  For the list of secondary materials available, click here.

LESSON PLANS

Utah LRE has gathered and developed lesson plans to help teachers teach civic education to our youth and communities.  A Law and Citizenship Manual for both elementary and secondary schools has been compiled, and is available free of charge, to Utah teachers.   The individual lesson plans in the elementary manual are available for downloadhere, and the Table of Contents for the secondary manual can be viewed by clicking here.  Individual lesson plans can be obtained by e-mailing the Project at lre@icw.com.

PUBLICATIONS

Utah Law Related Education produces publications, including lesson plans, to enable those who teach our youth and communities to integrate law-related education into their curriculum.  Publications include Your Day in Court, distributed to teachers before court tours; the annual Mock Trial Competition Handbook; Elementary and Secondary Law and Citizenship Manuals, lesson plans which are correlated to the Social Studies Core Curriculum; Conflict Resolution for Schools and Communities, a training and resource manual; Conflict Manager Training Manual for Elementary schools; Conflict Manager Training Manual for Secondary Schools; and Practical Law in Utah.
